M.L.K 2015

“Our lives start to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.”

MLK is a man to look up to because he took a stand without any violence. He protested, he fought, and he worked for what he wanted and not once did he have to be violent.

Today, in 2015, we celebrate the birthday of a man who changed equality history forever, and here we are (blacks and whites) still being racist against eachother.

When will it end?

“They will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

Why must we say that one single race is evil, degrading, and violent?

Today, we say, “Thank you MLK for all you have done.”

But, tomorrow?

We are back with derogatory racist slurs, race grouping, and violence against opposite races.

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too much of a burden to bear.”

God created everyone differently, but not to be treated as such. We live in a world where if you aren’t the right color, listen to the right music, spend your weekends a certain way- you are talked down upon, you are left in the cold, and you are not accepted.

For everyone that thinks it’s okay to react violently to racism, look what he did for our country. With just words and love he changed the course of history forever. One single man with a dream.

You can change the world.
